About Story of the Seed
The story of the seed is a year-long project where us as students monitor the growth of a plant from seed to seed. This project, designed by Mr. Bursch, is used to tie together the units of the honors biology class. All these units are connected to Ecology, which is the study of the relationship between living things and their environment. This project involves students receiving a pack of seeds to plant and watch over. We will pick a variable to use for our experiment and supervise it closely. The plants are placed under lights and are watered every other day. After a few days, we will pick the strongest of our plants and put them under stronger lighting to grow faster. We watch the growth and development of these plants daily and make sure they are still growing strong. Throughout this project, we will be posting the development of the plants on blogs. These blogs will help track our progress and to share what we have learned. The story of the seed project involves us using the scientific method to the best of our abilities to create a successful year-long project.
